1. Agreement and scope
These Terms & Conditions apply to version 1.0.0 of Linear Cut List Optimizer for Android, package com.cutlistoptimizer.linearcutlistoptimizer, provided by SodCode. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use. Our Privacy Policy explains the app's handling of information.
2. License and your content
Subject to these terms, SodCode grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app for lawful personal or business purposes on compatible devices you control. SodCode and its licensors retain rights in the app, branding, code, and other supplied materials. Third-party software and bundled fonts retain their respective licenses; their license terms continue to apply.
You retain your rights in the project names, labels, dimensions, templates, presets, and other content you enter, and in your workshop outputs. These terms do not transfer ownership of that content to SodCode. You are responsible for having permission to use or share information belonging to another person or business.
3. Purpose and supported limits
Linear Cut List Optimizer helps arrange required pieces along one-dimensional linear stock for straight 90-degree cuts. It supports mixed stock lengths, blade width (kerf), start and end trim allowances, metric and imperial units, reusable templates and presets, cutting diagrams, a workshop view, and locally generated PDF reports and checklists.
It does not plan two-dimensional sheet nesting, angled or miter cuts, structural design, load-bearing suitability, tool motion, or machine control. The current engine supports up to 200 required pieces per project, subject to its input and device limits. Unlimited saved projects and presets means there is no paid quota; available device storage and performance still impose practical limits.
4. Calculations and optimization limits
Plans are based on the values you provide and a bounded cutting heuristic. A feasible result is not a promise of the globally smallest waste, fewest stock lengths, best cost, or only valid cutting layout. A job may have unplanned or impossible pieces because stock, blade width, trim, quantities, or supported limits prevent completion. Review missing-piece and unused-stock information before using the plan.
Lengths are represented as integer micrometers; input is rounded once to the nearest micrometer, half up. Unit changes affect the display. Fractional-inch display rounds to 1/64 inch, and approximate values are marked with the approximation symbol in the app or a tilde in a PDF. These software representations do not establish physical measurement or machine accuracy.
Kerf is counted between pieces and when separating the last piece from an offcut. An exact fit requires no final separation cut. End-trim inputs include any blade loss used for trimming. Verify that this convention matches your actual equipment and workflow. Utilization is calculated as required piece length divided by original stock length used; it is not a guarantee that remaining offcuts are useful.
5. Workshop safety and verification
Before cutting, verify stock lengths and condition, required lengths and quantities, measurement units, actual blade width, trim allowances, labels, and the cutting sequence. Check the displayed and exported results against physical measurements. Kerf, tolerances, defects, clamping clearance, minimum safe piece lengths, and machine restrictions may require adjustments beyond the app's model.
Follow your tool manufacturer's instructions, use appropriate guards and protective equipment, and apply competent workshop judgment. Do not use a diagram as an instruction to make an unsafe cut. The app does not inspect your material, verify machine setup, assess structural safety, or replace a qualified professional. You remain responsible for deciding whether and how to use a plan.
6. Free features and future changes
This version is free and has no subscription, in-app purchase, or paid unlock. Saved projects, stock presets, templates, supported 200-piece planning, and PDF checklists do not require a purchase. It may display banner, interstitial, rewarded interstitial, rewarded, native, and app-open advertisements from Google Mobile Ads. Device or third-party services may have their own charges.
Rewarded offers are optional. Completing an offered ad can hide all ads until the current app session ends. Declining, skipping, or being unable to load an ad does not restrict core features or PDF export. Rewards require the SDK's reward callback and are not guaranteed merely by opening or starting an ad. App-open and interstitial advertisements use eligibility and frequency controls; no ads are shown in workshop mode.
Features, compatibility, and limits may change in future releases. Any future paid feature or change to information practices will be described separately where required; these terms do not authorize an undisclosed charge.
7. Local data and independent copies
Projects, results, templates, settings, and presets are stored on your device. The app provides no account, app-operated cloud synchronization, server backup, or recovery service. Clearing app data, uninstalling, losing or replacing the device, storage failure, or operating-system changes may permanently remove records.
Keep independent copies of important inputs and outputs. Exported PDFs are workshop documents and cannot be imported as a project backup. Device migration tools may behave differently depending on the Android version and manufacturer; do not rely on them as the app's backup service.
8. PDF saving, sharing, and printing
Open and review each final PDF before relying on it. Verify project details, dimensions, units, diagrams, completeness, page scaling, and any selected checklist or summary. Diagrams are planning illustrations and must not be used as physical measuring templates. Updating a project does not update a PDF already exported.
Saving, sharing, previewing, and printing depend on your device, storage destination, viewer, sharing app, print service, and printer. Choose the correct destination and protect confidential information. Once a copy is outside the app, Linear Cut List Optimizer cannot recall, update, control, or delete it. The receiving provider's terms and privacy policy apply.
9. Acceptable use and third parties
Use the app lawfully and do not infringe another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights, distribute malicious modifications, misrepresent the publisher, or interfere with the app's operation. Restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not limit rights granted by applicable open-source licenses.
Google Mobile Ads, Google's consent platform, Firebase Realtime Database, advertisers, Android, Google Play, browser applications, document providers, sharing destinations, PDF viewers, device migration tools, print services, and printers are provided by third parties. Their availability, compatibility, and information handling are governed by their own terms. SodCode does not control those services. Opening an advertisement may take you to a third-party destination whose content, products, charges, terms, and privacy practices are independent of SodCode. Advertising availability is not guaranteed.
10. Availability and warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided as is and as available. SodCode does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every device or workflow, globally optimal cutting results, material savings, or suitability for a particular purpose. We may correct, update, or discontinue features. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Liability and mandatory rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, SodCode is not liable for losses arising from incorrect inputs, failure to verify a plan, unsafe workshop practices, damaged or wasted materials, lost local data, incorrect exports, third-party services, or reliance on the app's results. This limitation does not exclude or limit liability where doing so is prohibited, including any non-excludable liability for fraud, injury, or mandatory consumer protections.
Your statutory rights and access to remedies under applicable law remain in effect. These terms do not require you to waive mandatory protections or submit disputes to an undisclosed exclusive jurisdiction. Contact us first if you need help resolving an app-related issue.
12. Updates, discontinuing use, and contact
We may revise these terms to reflect app changes or applicable requirements. Updated terms will show a new last updated date and any additional notice required by law. You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time; save necessary outputs before removing local data.
