1. Scope and publisher
SodCode provides Linear Cut List Optimizer, an Android app for planning straight cuts from linear stock. This Privacy Policy covers version 1.0.0, Android package com.cutlistoptimizer.linearcutlistoptimizer, and explains how information is processed when you use the app. Privacy questions can be sent to sodcode.app@gmail.com.
This policy covers the app. The SodCode website privacy policy applies when you visit our website. Android, Google Play, your device manufacturer, PDF destinations, and email providers have their own privacy policies.
2. Privacy at a glance
- No account, sign-in, or cloud synchronization is required or provided.
- Cutting calculations and PDF generation run on your device. Projects, templates, results, settings, and stock presets are stored locally.
- The app does not upload your project content to SodCode or an app server.
- This version may show banner, interstitial, rewarded interstitial, rewarded, native, and app-open advertisements supplied by Google Mobile Ads. Rewarded offers are optional. Google's consent platform is used before ad requests where required. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, developer-operated analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
- PDFs leave the app when you choose to save, share, or print them through a selected destination. Opening a website from Settings uses your external browser.
3. Information processed on your device
The app processes the information you enter to generate and display cutting plans, save projects, reuse templates and stock presets, and create workshop PDFs. This may include:
- Project names, material descriptions, project identifiers, creation and update dates, and template status.
- Stock and required-piece lengths, quantities, labels, selected measurement units, blade width (kerf), and start and end trim allowances.
- Calculated cutting patterns, missing pieces, unused stock, offcut lengths, utilization, kerf and trim losses, and other plan results.
- Stock presets and preferences such as theme, default units and allowances, diagram labels, fractional display, PDF paper and summary options, and the workshop keep-screen-awake setting.
Names and labels may contain personal or business information if you choose to enter it. That content is processed locally; do not enter information you do not need. The app does not request your contacts, precise location, camera, or microphone. Google Mobile Ads may use the Android advertising identifier as described below.
4. Local storage, retention, and deletion
Projects, templates, saved results, settings, and stock presets are stored in an SQLite database in the app's private storage. Records have no automatic expiry. Separate local preferences store the last valid advertising configuration, launch counts, and app-open frequency timestamps. Google's advertising and consent components may also store SDK or consent information on the device. You can delete projects and templates from the plans list and remove presets in Settings. Clearing app storage in Android settings or uninstalling removes the app's local data.
The app has no SodCode server backup, recovery service, or remote account to delete. SodCode cannot access or recover your local database. Keep copies of important workshop outputs before clearing data, uninstalling, or replacing your device. A PDF is an output document, not a restorable project backup.
Android cloud backup is disabled in the app configuration using allowBackup=false. Device-to-device transfer behavior can still depend on the Android version and device manufacturer. Any transfer performed by the operating system or a device migration tool is handled by that provider, rather than an app-operated cloud synchronization service.
Deleting local records does not recall or delete PDFs already saved, shared, printed, or copied outside the app. Manage those copies through their storage provider, recipient, or print service. Deleting a record is not a guarantee of forensic erasure from device storage or existing copies.
5. PDF saving, sharing, and printing
Workshop PDFs are generated locally using bundled fonts. Depending on your selections, a PDF can include project and material names, dates, stock and piece labels, dimensions, quantities, cutting diagrams, blade and trim allowances, utilization and offcut summaries, missing pieces, and a per-piece checklist.
Save PDF opens Android's document picker so you can choose a destination. That destination may be local storage or a cloud-backed provider. Share PDF passes the document to your chosen sharing app; Print / preview uses the device's PDF and printing services. Those services may retain, transmit, or upload a copy under their own policies. Review the document and destination before saving or sending confidential material.
The app does not independently upload the PDF. Sharing and printing components may create temporary local files or copies needed to complete the action. Copies managed by another app or service remain under that provider's control.
6. Advertising, rewards, and consent
Linear Cut List Optimizer may display banner and native advertisements on ordinary planning screens, interstitial advertisements at natural breaks before PDF export, optional rewarded interstitial offers before export, optional rewarded advertisements in Settings, and app-open advertisements on eligible launches or long foreground returns. Ads are not displayed in workshop mode. Interstitials have frequency limits, and app-open ads are suppressed around PDF, browser, sharing, and privacy-choice flows.
Completing a rewarded or rewarded interstitial ad can hide all ads for the current app session. Skipping, declining, or being unable to load an ad does not restrict projects, templates, calculations, presets, PDF checklists, saving, sharing, or printing. The reward ends when the app session ends.
Ad requests are marked as non-personalized, and the maximum ad content rating is set to G. Non-personalized ads may still involve processing app and device information, IP addresses, the Android advertising identifier or other identifiers, ad interactions, consent status, and diagnostics for delivery, frequency limits, fraud prevention, and reporting. The app does not attach project names, measurements, labels, cutting plans, or PDF content to ad requests. Google may retain this advertising information under its own policies.
Google's User Messaging Platform requests updated consent information before ads are requested and displays a privacy message when required. If Google requires a privacy-options entry point, Settings shows Ad privacy choices so you can review or change your choices. Ad availability also depends on consent, network access, and the publisher's enabled formats. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner apps.
7. Remote advertising settings and analytics
The app reads a small public Firebase Realtime Database record at appConfig/linearCutListOptimizer/ads. It contains the publisher's AdMob enabled switch, test-or-live mode, enabled formats, test and real ad unit IDs, and an update timestamp. A valid copy is cached locally. Online settings are refreshed on startup, on resume, and approximately every five minutes while the app is running. If the service is unavailable, the app uses its valid cached settings or test-mode defaults. The advertising master switch stops ad serving after the updated configuration is received.
The configuration request does not contain your project names, measurements, labels, templates, plans, PDFs, or account details. Like an ordinary network request, it can expose technical connection information such as an IP address to the service provider. This configuration is not a project-upload or cloud-backup service.
The app has no developer-operated remote analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Its local analytics abstraction does not record or transmit events. This does not prevent the advertising SDK, Firebase hosting infrastructure, Android, Google Play, or your device provider from processing their own delivery or diagnostic information under their policies.
All features remain free, with no billing SDK, purchase verification, subscription, or entitlement tracking. An obsolete purchase-proof preference from earlier builds is removed after local data loads successfully, without uploading it or deleting projects or presets.
8. Network access, external links, and device features
The Android app uses INTERNET permission to retrieve public advertising settings and communicate with Google's advertising and consent services. Google Mobile Ads uses the Android advertising ID permission. Planning, local storage, and PDF generation still run on your device and can work without an internet connection; ads or cloud-backed destinations may be unavailable offline.
When you open a Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, advertisement, or Google Play link, an external browser, store, or advertiser destination handles its own requests. That provider and the visited website may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs. The app does not attach your projects, measurements, labels, or PDFs to its legal or store links.
If you enable the workshop keep-screen-awake option, the app asks the operating system to keep the screen awake while the workshop view is active. PDF saving uses your selected document destination rather than requesting broad access to all device files. You can manage Android's advertising settings through your device settings, as supported by your Android version.
9. Information you send for support
If you email sodcode.app@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments or device details you choose to send. We use that information to respond, investigate the issue, and keep necessary support records. Our email provider also processes those communications. Send only the information needed for the request and redact confidential project or customer information where possible.
We retain support correspondence only as needed to resolve and follow up on requests and meet applicable legal obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion of support information, contact the same address. We will handle requests subject to applicable law and any necessary retention obligations. SodCode does not sell your project data or support correspondence.
10. Security and children
Local storage relies on Android's app isolation and your device's security. The app does not provide its own database password or a guarantee that a saved PDF is encrypted. Protect your device and choose trusted sharing and storage destinations. No storage or communication method is completely secure.
Linear Cut List Optimizer is a workshop planning utility and is not designed to collect children's personal information. The app has no account or remote project collection. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us in a support message, contact us so we can review and handle it appropriately.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app or its information practices change. The last updated date identifies this version. Any new data collection or integration will be reflected in the relevant policy and in-app disclosures where required.
