1. Agreement and scope
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of version 1.0.0 of the Bulk File Renamer Android app provided by SodCode. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License to use Bulk File Renamer
Subject to these terms, SodCode grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Bulk File Renamer for personal or lawful business purposes on compatible Android devices you control. The app is licensed, not sold. Google Play terms may also apply to your installation and use.
3. What the app does
Bulk File Renamer lets you select individual files or a folder, filter and order files, apply rename rules, review a preview, validate proposed names, and request sequential rename operations through Android’s document-provider system. It supports nine rename-rule types, optional subfolder scanning, saved recipes, local operation history, retry, and best-effort undo. It does not rename directories. Features, limits, and compatibility may change in future versions.
4. Your files and responsibilities
You retain all rights in your files and filenames. These terms do not give SodCode ownership of them. You are responsible for having permission to access and rename each item and for complying with applicable law, workplace rules, and third-party rights.
Do not use the app to interfere with systems or data, evade security controls, disguise unlawful material, infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights, or rename files in a way that could harm another person or service.
5. Preview, review, and backups
Rename rules can affect many files at once. You are responsible for reviewing the full preview, skipped items, conflicts, extension settings, numbering order, and final confirmation before starting a job. Preview validation reduces common mistakes but cannot guarantee that every storage provider will produce the expected result.
Keep independent backups of important files before a bulk operation. Do not rely on app history or undo as your only backup. A rename can affect other apps, links, scripts, synchronization tools, or workflows that expect the previous filename.
6. Storage-provider limitations
Android document providers decide whether a location can be read, listed, renamed, or accessed later. A provider may be local, removable, networked, or cloud-backed. It may reject a name, revoke access, report stale metadata, change a content URI, process a rename non-atomically, or fail before or after changing a file.
The app limits folder enumeration to 10,000 files. A provider’s reported rename capability is advisory, and access to a single file may not allow the app to detect every sibling-name conflict. You are responsible for checking the final result in the storage location. Third-party provider terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
7. Partial results, interruption, retry, and undo
Files are renamed sequentially, so a job can succeed in part and fail in part. The result report records each attempted outcome and should be reviewed after every operation. If the app closes while a provider call is in progress, the affected entry may be marked uncertain and will not be retried automatically; inspect its current filename and select it again before taking further action.
Undo is a best-effort reverse rename, not a guaranteed rollback. It may fail or only partly succeed if a previous name is occupied, a content URI changed or expired, access was revoked, the storage provider refuses the operation, or another change occurred after the original job. Retry can also produce partial results.
8. Local operation data and recovery
The app stores settings, saved rule recipes, and an active recovery journal locally. If operation history is enabled, it also stores up to 100 recent completed jobs. These records can contain filenames, document URIs, requested and actual names, rules, timestamps, statuses, and error details, but not file contents. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Bulk File Renamer does not provide an account, cloud synchronization, or a guaranteed backup or recovery service. Clearing app data, uninstalling the app, losing or damaging the device, or a storage failure may remove local settings, recipes, history, and recovery records. Removing those records does not reverse completed renames.
9. Free features and online services
In this version, all nine rename-rule types and up to 20 saved recipes are available without a subscription or in-app purchase. The app may show banner and interstitial ads supplied by Google Mobile Ads. After a completed rename, the app may offer an optional rewarded interstitial that hides ads until you close the app. You can decline the offer without losing access to any rename feature. Ad availability and successful reward delivery are not guaranteed.
Google Mobile Ads, Google’s consent platform, Firebase Realtime Database, Google Play, and an Android sharing destination you select are third-party services operating under their own terms and policies. We do not control their availability, content, security, data handling, or conduct. Advertising or configuration failures do not restrict the app’s local rename features.
10. Our intellectual property
Bulk File Renamer’s software, design, branding, text, and other materials, excluding your files and third-party materials, are owned by or licensed to SodCode and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app except where the law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
11. Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or support for devices or app versions. We do not promise that the app, ads, rewards, Google Play, Firebase, Android’s document picker, or any storage provider will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Keep independent backups and records needed for important work.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Bulk File Renamer is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that every preview, validation, rename, retry, or undo result will be complete or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, SodCode will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss, corruption, misnaming, unavailability, or unintended disclosure of files, data, profits, business, or opportunity arising from the app or a third-party provider. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including applicable mandatory consumer protections.
14. Ending use
You may stop using Bulk File Renamer and uninstall it at any time. Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for your files—survive the end of use.
15. Applicable law
These terms apply subject to the mandatory laws and consumer rights of the place where you live. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when Bulk File Renamer, its services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the app or its store listing. Continuing to use the app after revised terms take effect means the revised terms apply, to the extent permitted by law.
