1. Agreement and scope
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of version 1.0.0 of the SRT Editor Android app provided by SodCode. The app may also display the name “SubSync” within its interface. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License to use SRT Editor
Subject to these terms, SodCode grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use SRT Editor for personal or lawful business purposes on compatible Android devices you control. The app is licensed, not sold. Google Play terms may also apply to your installation and use.
3. What the app does
SRT Editor opens supported UTF-8 SRT and WebVTT files up to 5 MB. It can edit subtitle text and timestamps, search and replace text, shift or repair timing, preview batch changes, undo and redo edits, validate cues, convert between SRT and WebVTT, keep local recent and recovery snapshots, and save or share a new subtitle file. Supported formats, limits, features, and device compatibility may change in future versions.
4. Your files and responsibilities
You retain your rights in subtitle files and other content you use with SRT Editor. These terms do not give SodCode ownership of that content. You are responsible for your files and for having all permissions needed to access, edit, convert, save, publish, and share them.
Do not use SRT Editor to infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights; create or distribute unlawful material; introduce malicious code; interfere with the app or related services; or attempt unauthorized access to systems or data.
5. Local storage, recovery, and backups
SRT Editor stores preferences, up to eight recent-file snapshots, and temporary recovery data in app-private storage. Recent and recovery snapshots may contain the complete subtitle text and associated file information. The app does not provide an account, developer-operated cloud synchronization, or a guaranteed backup or recovery service.
Depending on your Android and device backup settings, the operating system or device provider may back up eligible app data. You are responsible for keeping independent copies of important source and exported files. Clearing app data, uninstalling the app, losing or damaging the device, a failed backup, or storage failure may permanently remove local work.
6. Editing, validation, and conversion accuracy
Timing previews, validation notices, search and replace, format conversion, and other tools are provided to assist your work. They do not guarantee that a subtitle is complete, synchronized, error-free, accessible, or compatible with every player, platform, or publishing workflow. Always review the text and timing and test important output with its intended media and playback environment.
Some malformed cues may not be imported. Advanced WebVTT styling, metadata, cue settings, or identifiers may be adapted or omitted, especially when converting to SRT. SRT Editor warns about certain known issues but cannot detect or preserve every format extension.
7. Original files, exports, and sharing
SRT Editor is designed to save an edited subtitle as a new file rather than overwrite the original. This does not replace your responsibility to keep backups and confirm the destination and filename before saving.
Android’s file picker, document providers, backup services, share sheet, sharing destinations, and Google Play are operated by third parties. Your use of them is governed by their terms. We do not control their availability, security, conduct, content, or handling of a file after you choose to save or send it to them.
8. Local editing and internet access
Version 1.0.0 performs its subtitle editing functions locally. It uses internet access to request advertising, present consent or privacy options where required, and retrieve remote ad settings. Online access may also be involved when you choose a cloud document provider or online sharing destination, or when Google Play manages installation and updates. Ad or network availability does not change the app’s ability to edit subtitle content locally.
9. Advertising and optional rewards
SRT Editor may display banner ads on non-editing screens and an interstitial ad at a natural transition such as moving from the editor to export. Ad availability, content, and timing can vary, and remote settings may disable advertising or switch between test and live ad units.
After a file is saved, the app may offer an optional rewarded interstitial. The offer clearly provides a skip option. If Google confirms that you earned the reward, banner and full-screen ads are hidden for the remainder of the current app session. Closing and reopening the app ends that temporary benefit. Declining, closing, or failing to complete the ad does not block editing, saving, exporting, or sharing.
Ads and consent services are supplied by Google and are subject to Google’s applicable terms and policies. We do not guarantee that an ad or reward will always be available.
10. Our intellectual property
SRT Editor’s software, design, branding, text, and other materials, excluding your content and third-party materials, are owned by or licensed to SodCode and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the app except where applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
11. Availability and changes
We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or support for devices, file formats, or app versions. We do not promise that the app, Google Play, a document provider, or a sharing destination will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Keep independent copies of important files and outputs.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, SRT Editor is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, compatibility, or that every edit or export will be free of error. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, SodCode will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, content, profits, business, or opportunity arising from SRT Editor or a third-party service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including applicable mandatory consumer protections.
14. Ending use
You may stop using SRT Editor and uninstall it at any time. Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and responsibility for your content, survive the end of use.
15. Applicable law
These terms apply subject to the mandatory laws and consumer rights of the place where you live. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when SRT Editor, its platform integrations, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. If a change is material, we may also provide notice through the app or its store listing. Continuing to use the app after revised terms take effect means the revised terms apply, to the extent permitted by law.
